Under Foreign Suns
Created shortly after relocating to Mexico City, Under Foreign Suns marked a turning point in Mariah Oller’s exploration of color and mixed media. The work uses beach umbrellas as symbols of environmental adaptation and temporary protection, a reflection on how humans reshape their surroundings when living outside of their ancestral lands.
